It is not timidity just a desire not to have to deal with bores after a long day.

When I am trying to unwind I can get a bit testy when don juan slithers up beside me and puts his hand on my knee. I have found that keeping a nail file in my lap and gently placing the tip against the offending appendage gets the point across nicely but the other point is that I should not be driven to such lengths just to be allowed to sit in a public area in peace.
