What you can simply do is treat all LEOs like sociopaths with guns who are off their meds. All the good cops have quit. What's left are badge heavy thugs that are going to be very surprised, one day...

LEOs are getting worse and worse, and as they carve away at their own support they wonder every day about why no one loves them any more. The thugs who are too sorry for the police departments are snatched up by the TCA, because they know they can't ever never get fired, no matter what they do to "civilians.".

You are so, so right.

I’m sure there are a few good cops left. Maybe. Somewhere. But I can’t take the risk. As far as I’m concerned, the police department — ANY police department — is best considered as just another street gang, only with uniforms and a license to kill.

I know some will say, “Let’s see how much you despise the cops when you need one.” The problem with that is that I never have needed one, nor will I ever need one. I am responsible for my own self-defense, not the cops; they have no legal obligation to protect me. If someone tries to mug me or break into my home, the police will not be there; they are only there when I drive five miles over the speed limit or park incorrectly. If a riot breaks out in my town or a couple of nutjobs start shooting up the local high school. the police will not be there; they will be clustered around the “tactical forward command post” in their stormtrooper suits adjusting each other’s Terminator shades. If a crack house opens on my street, the police will not be there; they’ll be in the parking lot at Krispy Kreme writing me a ticket for having an insufficiently illuminated rear license plate.

With all this in mind, I can only ask: what good are the police, anyway? What are we getting for our tax dollar? We could hire private investigators to solve murder mysteries much more cheaply; we could train traffic wardens to man speed traps and write tickets. For everything else (enforcing court orders, evicting trespassers, running the jail, etc.) I see no reason the local sherriff and his deputies couldn’t handle things.

It’s not that I hate cops; it’s just that I can’t figure out why we need them. It’s not for personal protection, that’s for sure. When Trouble appears, the police are generally somewhere else. When the crap hits the fan I cannot count on the local boys in blue to save me or mine — I can only count on myself and the good Lord. “To protect and to serve”? The first loyalty of the police is to protect he Force and serve the Force, not to protect and serve me.

May God bless whatever good cops may remain, but as far as I am concerned cops are just another threat to be avoided. The city I live in could zero out the police budget and it would be all the same to me.
