What?! I did answer and you don't get it. Those are standards that all officers are expected to know and adhere to. Probable Cause is in the Constitution and these standards have evolved through case law and Supreme Court rulings. Try reading the link.
Fantasy scenarios are not going to make you right.
This is exactly the scenario. The officer decided that there was probable cause. You disagree. Who resolves this dispute?
Are you stupid? Is that the problem here? Why do I have to keep asking the same question?
Good.
Yes. You don't understand the Constitution or the law even after it was posted for you.
The video shows this to be untrue. It's a fabrication on your part to justify the cops brutal behaviour. Why are you defending a thug that gives officers a bad name and ignores Constitutional protections?
In a followup, the cop says that he arrested him for not giving him his boarding pass. It's recorded on Englands cellphone. That's not Probable Cause either. And the TSA had already copied Englands military ID and boarding pass which caused him to miss his flight. Google this and see that you're in the minority. There's outrage at the cops behaviour.
You STILL haven’t answered the question, nitwit.
It’s too bad that you need to resort to namecalling for your indefensible position. Not finding your boarding pass fast enough when they already have it copied is not an arrestable offense.
That was your first mistake, Sergeant.
You are so, so right.
I’m sure there are a few good cops left. Maybe. Somewhere. But I can’t take the risk. As far as I’m concerned, the police department ANY police department is best considered as just another street gang, only with uniforms and a license to kill.
I know some will say, “Let’s see how much you despise the cops when you need one.” The problem with that is that I never have needed one, nor will I ever need one. I am responsible for my own self-defense, not the cops; they have no legal obligation to protect me. If someone tries to mug me or break into my home, the police will not be there; they are only there when I drive five miles over the speed limit or park incorrectly. If a riot breaks out in my town or a couple of nutjobs start shooting up the local high school. the police will not be there; they will be clustered around the “tactical forward command post” in their stormtrooper suits adjusting each other’s Terminator shades. If a crack house opens on my street, the police will not be there; they’ll be in the parking lot at Krispy Kreme writing me a ticket for having an insufficiently illuminated rear license plate.
With all this in mind, I can only ask: what good are the police, anyway? What are we getting for our tax dollar? We could hire private investigators to solve murder mysteries much more cheaply; we could train traffic wardens to man speed traps and write tickets. For everything else (enforcing court orders, evicting trespassers, running the jail, etc.) I see no reason the local sherriff and his deputies couldn’t handle things.
It’s not that I hate cops; it’s just that I can’t figure out why we need them. It’s not for personal protection, that’s for sure. When Trouble appears, the police are generally somewhere else. When the crap hits the fan I cannot count on the local boys in blue to save me or mine — I can only count on myself and the good Lord. “To protect and to serve”? The first loyalty of the police is to protect he Force and serve the Force, not to protect and serve me.
May God bless whatever good cops may remain, but as far as I am concerned cops are just another threat to be avoided. The city I live in could zero out the police budget and it would be all the same to me.
I don’t care what he said, he didn’t fight them and shouldn’t have been beaten and broken up. This is just wrong, unless I’ve moved to a police state and don’t know it.
Let’s see you be attacked with weapons like this, while handcuffed and see what you whine then
Yeah, she lied and made that up, but that’s ok, she’s authoritii
Oh you just HAVE to read this thread. Unbelievable.
Instead of taking that as an opportunity to commiserate with a kindred spirit, Captain Confrontation decides that he’s an MP and demand her ID.
Well, I’m sorry, if I were a Looey in the Army and I tried to be nice to this noncomm and he got in my face about producing ID, I’d lose my patience with the twit as well. Remember, we are in the secure area of an airport, not out on the streets of Chicago.
Even if she were (a) in the army and (b) lying, she didn’t give a military order, so I doubt the JAG would even bother with considering thinking about doing anything about it.
If she were not even in the army and she were lying, what could Sgt. Hatred do then?
