My guess is that XM listeners are included, since Talkers based their numbers on Arbitron and other surveys.

Somehow I got on Arbitron's list. They send you a workbook, and for a week you write down the time and station whenever you listen to the radio. Most of the slots I filled in were XM stations.

I’d be pretty pissed too if I was forced to apologize for doing my job. And you could fire them in the sense that you could keep them from doing their radio show, but you’d still be paying them until their contract ran out.
