The problem isn't lack of conservative candidates. The problem is too many egos dividing up the conservative vote. Duncan Hunter is clearly the best choice-- he has military experience (which Newt lacks) and lacks zipper control problems (which Newt has).

While we all owe Newt thanks for engineering the 1994 mid-terms powershift, he is yesterday's news.

The number one issue of the day is the war on Islamofacism. Somebody with genuine military experience (as opposed to cameo photo-ops) needs to be leading the charge.

It is also worthwhile to recall that Newt wilted and faded when his martial indiscretions came to light, unlike slick Willie who turned himself into a martyr. Granted, the enemedia played the major role in creating these perceptions, but requirement number two for our candidate is someone who can stand up to the enemedia.

Duncan Hunter needs to get a job with paychecks that come from ADP, not from the US Treasury. I would vote for the guy, don't get me wrong, but it wold be nice to have someone who has done something outside of government.
