Brownback was on the other end of the phone on the one call to the governor. Sam can back this up.
Problem is, Sam isn't backing it up.

UPDATE: ** The Senator and Governor Never Spoke. ** I just got off the phone with Brian Hart a spokesman from Senator Brownback's office and he said that the conversation in question between Senator Brownback and Governor Sebelius did not take place. (Friday AM)

Their letter says it is demonstratably wrong.
So demonstrate it already.

How very carefully stated! Would the Gov. have emailed? Or spoken on voicemail? Or maybe it was EXACTLY the “conversation in question” but meant the same thing? And don’t tell me she couldn’t be that stupid as to HAVE a conversation about any of this, with Brownback or Dean. She absolutely lied about not enough National Guards and/or equipment (it was all over in Iraq, right?) This woman is not only a liar but may well be stupid- after all, she’s a Nastycrat. Just one of the Nasties temporarily in power.

(Friday AM)Is the "meaning of 'is'" angle on this that the communication was relayed between aides? That would account for the ability to deny a direct conversation while someone in the know claiming it happened.
