It got very quiet around here suddenly....
I'm not a FredHead. I'm for any and all conservative candidates in the race. Heck, I've even been defending Romney lately as he makes efforts at being conservative. Free Republic has always treated liberals and their supporters here pretty darned nasty. If a poster came here to support Hillary, or a long time poster went nuts and did that, he or she would be treated with nastiness and shown the door. Giuliani and his supporters here deserve no different. Support a liberal and you'll get the treatment a liberal deserves here. We've got a liberal abortionist gun grabber to "swiftboat" and a bunch of conservative candidates to clear the way for. If you get in the way of that, you might get run over. And sometimes it may get nasty.
So if the media pretends to oppose Rudi, conservative voters will be duped into voting for him because of reverse psychology?

Whichever conservative Republican can break from the back of the pack. I think Thompson's entry in the race will put him in the lead right away, as conservatives go.

Start your own thread, research the candidates, start a grassroots effort. Not only are you barking up the wrong tree, but you are not even in the “right” forrest!

I don't think much of Thompson myself, as I don't watch that TV show. Also, he voted for McCain/Feingold CFR. It wasn't that long ago that CFR was going to shut FR down. We fought that and won, at least temporarily.
Why turn around and try to censor other conservative Republicans on this site? Are we unable to have discussions with others who disagree with us? I don't get it.
I got on board with Jim Robinson's thread that declared this to be a conservative site, but that was before it turned into a mass banning. The Giuliani supporters were nowhere near to "taking over" the site.
A few months ago, FR took a poll of FReepers in which Duncan Hunter came out clearly ahead of the pack and Rudy fell way back. We have vigorous Hunter support here.
Then, as if overnight, Fred appeared and magically the FR poll showed Thompson way ahead. Things have changed fast around here since that event.
I can, and I have, drawn my own conclusions from that.

I’ve posted similar sentiments, so it wouldn’t exactly be stealing for me to say...
The Rudybots often point out that we are a minimal “fringe” group that is unnecessary, and the majority of the GOP is sick of us having our “foot on their necks” [note this is a quote from banned freeper Howlin]. If that is true, then why not just leave us alone? The reason is, they know our votes are necessary in order for their candidate to ever win the main election. That is why they get so ticked off when they hear some of us won’t vote if Rooty Toot is the nominee.
Allow me to say that your support of a liberal, abortionist, gun-grabbing, gay activist, authoritarian opportunist is starting to stink. I’ve seen this kind of behavior from long term freepers before, right before they send up an opus and commit freepercide.
Start your own grassroots effort, get out and knock on some doors, old chap.

Let me try it another way - To the Democrats and their supporting media, ruuddeee vs the Dem nominee is the contest of their dreams because either way they get a liberal President who is pro-abortion, pro-fag, is a practitioner of situational ethics that are light on honesty, has no respect for the Constitution or American Sovereignty or even American Citizenship, etc etc etc. Got that part?
The dems and the media know perfectly well that ruuddeee is one of them, SO IT IS VERY VERY DEAR TO THEM TO PLAY HIM OFF AS THE FRONT-RUNNER AS THEY HAVE BEEN DOING SINCE EVEN BEFORE HE DECLARED. If he’s elected it would be very nearly as good for them and their agenda as if hilliary would be elected.........but to keep it from being too apparent, they must at the same time pass themselves off as not liking him (which they do) so as to not be too obvious, while at the same time avoiding taking him to task over some of the issues that reveal his liberalism.....such as Border, North American Union, gun-grabbing, foreign policy per se (not just lip-service re “WOT”)
Ruddeee is a lying liberal fraud, and so is the media coverage of him.....Partisan Republicans will vote for him because they are partisans first and foremost......Conservatives are a different breed of cat.
