Yes, the Swift Boats were telling the truth about Kerry. I probably should refer to this particular situation as “swift-boating”. Let’s call it a lynching of a Republican candidate by some Republicans. I would prefer that people simply debate the pros and cons of each candidate and then simply make a personal decision on who they wish to support. I don’t believe that it is in the best interest of the Republican party to actively work at destroying one of our candidates when it would have been wiser and more productive to spend that time and effort on supporting one or more of the other candidates.

If you arent going to offer economic conservatives anything, then what makes you think economic conservatives and indepedents who have leaned Republican in the past will vote Republican this time. The social issues appeal only to a part of the base (unless you have the gays screwing themselves over by pushing gay marriage like they did a few years ago. If these are your issues, not much to motivate your average American to vote Republican, especially in an anti Republican climate. Rudy Giuliani is not the only Republican candidate who will make good economic policy as President. Fred Thompson's record in the Senate is a pretty good one. He receive good ratings from the National Taxpayers Union (7th best Senator one year), Citizens Against Government Waste, etc. Some of the other Republican candidates have good records on that issue as well. Giuliani is not the only "fiscal conservative" in the bunch. Got that?!
Why is it that the one-issue "economic conservatives" insist that people who are conservative on social, economic, constitutional, national security, and sovereignty issues have to give up their conservatism on all other issues except for the "economic conservative's" pet issue. Same goes for the "national security conservatives". They do the same thing. I'm not backing down on any of the issues. Giuliani is bad on nearly every issue. And where most people think he's good, its usually based upon urban myths and legends.

CORRECTION: I meant to say, “I probably SHOULD’NT refer to this particular situation as “swift-boating”.

Lets call it a lynching of a Republican candidate by some RepublicansLynching? Rudy has been lynching himself with his inability to articulate any coherent message about abortion or Roe. He definitely is not showing the ability to be concise, focused and aware of his audience. And anyone who cannot do such cannot win the White House.

But freepers alone do not make up the entire primary voting base. They think they are. They cant fathom why Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo or Duncan Who arent running away with the nomination.

I think there is a difference between honest debates between, and about, all of the Republican candidates, and an organized swift-boating of one of them. Ive done some studying lately and found that some here, including the owner of this forum, had attacked George W. Bush in a similar manner when he was first running for President. Wow! You're KIDDING!? Oh, myyyyyy... Well, you better get your account cancelled immediately because a person like you should not be associated with a site like this. Indeed!!!

So is there any other lame-assed pointless point you want to spew on this thread?

I gotta disagree with ya there, Chena. I say tear him a new one. Let everyone know just how much a liberal rudy really is then voters can cross the cross-dresser off their list as a potential candidate, then they can turn their sights to real conservatives, not faux ones like rudy.

Dont have much background in history do you? Name Rockefeller mean anything to you? Or Nixon for that matter. We can thank him for wage and price controls, taking us off the gold standard, creating the Environmental Protection Agency. How about John Anderson? And dont forget, Barry Goldwater. He was pro-choice, for gay rights, and very suspicious of the Religious Right. Know as Mr. Conservative, Reagan got his political start campaigning for him. Giuliani's got them all beat. Tell me, which one of them would support the barbarism known as partial birth abortion? Hmmmmm?

This voter is concerned about foreign policy, the Constitution, property rights and returning power to the states. Giuliani fails miserably on all these counts.

I take it that you are denying that you were already a FReeper using a different screenname, or four, but probably no more than 30. I dont know if you ever stabbed the owner in the back, but I do believe there was a time where you were no longer welcome here...but that was several years ago. FR does tend to flip-flop from time to time. LOL Put up or shut up, idiot.

Then why does anyone have to work on a "STOP RUDY NOW" campaign? Let Rudy be his own worst enemy. It's really quite simple. Perhaps because Rudy would be just about the worst possible nominee? Gawd, look at the conflict he's spawned on FR. How on earth do you think he could hold the party together?
The front-loaded primary process means that the heavy hitting has to be done now, not early next year.
