Absolutely correct! In fact, calling someone a “Democrat” was a high insult in 18th century America.

very good to bring that up. I remember reading somewhere that you cannot find the word democracy in any official speeches of any President until the later 1800's. I wish I knew the date/source. Our Founders did not believe in pure democracy. They knew the insanity of Mob Rule. The 17th Amendment was a big mistake -- direct election of Senators. The Senate is full of traitors whose only concern is face time on the MSM and getting reelected.
