Milford, PA — beautiful little town, but the dregs of NYC and Port Jervis (or “Port Pervert,” as it was known when I lived in Milford)

I often camp and raft just north of Port Jervis, and have always had pleasant interactions with the residents I've had contact with. Are there bad sections of town away from the one main drag?

Yes — once you’re off the main drag, it can be “unique.” Of course, I lived there nine years ago, but when I was there, the thugs were hanging out at the Stewart’s Root Beer stand...
