We certainly are closer in thought on this subject than the last we chatted about.

A happier thread, no doubt.

What happened to the FreeRepublic that knew these polls are bogus, that they're tools to manipulate opinion and diminish the chances of conservative success?

I want that cynical old FreeRepublic back again, the FreeRepublic that could smell opinion-shaping by the media a mile off. I'm not as fond of this new live-by-the-polls bunch of FReepers we have now.

Not sure. But there is no doubt in my mind that liberal polling outfits do there best to shape opinion. It is the nature of liberals.
