**Note: If you have current and relevant links not shown above for a candidate, please freepmail them to me and I will update. Enjoy the thread and I hope you find the information useful! |
Not at all, I also tend to “demand better” in life in general. I’m not easily disparaged and I understand your sentiment. With that said, much of my efforts now are actually focused on driving out a clear liberal from the pack. This of course is separate from this particular thread. Thanks for your feedback. I do respect your input.
Just stopped by to watch for a bit.
Got no favorites, or, for that matter, much use at all for the Now-that-we’ve-shown-that-government-by-press-conference-is-a-
bust-let’s-try-staging-an-election-by-press-conference.
If we had a thread like this for the dims and wanted to show their REAL candidates, there would have to be places for Slick, Fat Timmah and the combined staffs of the NYSlime/WaPo/LASlime.
(Grumpy????? Why do you claim I’m da**** GRUMPY?)
Thanks for the ping.
Mdefranc posted some changed nomination probabilities per Intrade. My question would be: Is this a viable unbiased measure of who actually “wins” a debate, at least with the folks who put their money where their mouth is?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1828433/posts?page=37#16
Todays CHANGED nomination probabilities, per Intrade contracts:
Rudy Giuliani 29.9% (-2.1%)
F Thompson 16.3% (+1.2%)
Mitt Romney 17.5% (+2.2%)
Ron Paul 0.4% (+0.2%)

TANKS for the ping,,,Very Good Thread and a Great place to start :

A firestorm of protest erupted in the Louisiana blogosphere when it was reported that real conservatives would be excluded from a FOX NEWS presidential debate. Nick Bouterie, the Conservative Cajun himself, was manifestly upset in his most recent post. What in the hell is wrong with these morons? he asked. Thats an excellent question Nick, with a complex answer. In short whats wrong with them is the same thing thats been wrong with them since the big government conservatives (some call them neocons) high jacked our movement. (snip)
In short, its no small wonder that Fox News has sought to exclude the ant-immigration candidates from the debate. People like Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter are out of touch with Rupert Murdochs vision of conservatism as proclaimed on the FOX NEWS NETWORK and in his magazine THE WEEKLY STANDARD. It is a vision of America overrun with illegal aliens which are continuously driving down our standard of living. It is a world of constantly expanding foreign commitments in the international community that seek to bankrupt our country and undermine our sovereignty. If this message doesnt sound like an electoral winner, well thats because it isnt. But its the current message of the Bush administration, a message that the top tier Republican candidates are echoing.
Way to go, Mr. Kristol.

“Just stopped by to watch for a bit.”
This thread was part of my moving forward points I mentioned on the previous thread which I signed off of, and encourage everyone else to do the same.
We have the ability to push back against the media and I’m glad we have the ability to do that here!
Good to see you again UVNV!
You forgot one - but Capitalism2003 straightened it out ...
The Intrade changes are unbiased measures of event impacts relative to prior expectations. In other words, when surprises relevant to nomination probabilities occur, contract prices will change.
Thanks, I’m updating now and will request the update shortly. Not having luck finding a decent Keyes photo, if anyone could post one please it would be appreciated.
Then do you think Intrade is a good indicator of who “won” the debate and who “lost”?
Is he a declared candidate? Why muddy the waters???
I believe he is indeed a candidate. He’s definately a loyal conservative, though he’s not done well in the polls. I don’t mind including him in the interest of the conservative cause.
Scratch the above as being a candidate. Past candidate looking. Fred Thompson is not declared, so I think we should include Alan Keyes. Good time for Keyes to get some positive exposure if nothing else. He’s a good man.
Love your tagline Gritty!
I’ve sent off an update request. For the Keyes and Paul fans, Patrick Ruffini isn’t picking them up. If when he does, I’ll update their Live News Wire links. Maybe as their marketing and campaign techniques change, they’ll get more press. Just my opinion. That’s how the aggregate system works.
You’re welcome. I must say from having to go grab all the candidate information that I was impressed with the organization of the Hunter campaign. Makes my efforts of putting things together easier for sure.
Header updated!

Great idea, but why did Alan Keyes make this list and Ron Paul didn’t?
