Or of FDR supporting Britain during the period before December 7th, 1941 -- gee, that must have been tough for a staunch "pure loyalty" America Firster.

Inevitably, discussions such as these bring out, or are started by, Firster types. It's a convenient platform from which to pontificate about "loyalty" (wink wink). Nevermind that the original "Firsters" were wrong, that FDR didn't trust them to be part of the WWII effort (see Charles Lindbergh) and that they were utterly discredited and shamed.
