I think Morris is right on this.
He said Matthews is an old political operative for O’Neill, that the debate was orchestrated to give Rudy less face time than any other major candidate. I forget the numbers he quoted but it was like he got 2/3 the time of McCain or such.
The point Morrise was making was that Guiliani is the front runner, and puts the Dems in danger, so MSNBC deliberately submarined him to keep the Republicans from looking like they had a strong candidate.
What good will it do conservative Americans if the choice is between Hillary & Rudy? I actually think Rudy is the more dangerous of the two! Listen: If Rudy is elected to the White House, his proposals for gun confiscation, abortion funding, homosexual marriage and the like will be received as coming from a “conservative republican” rather than a liberal dem and will have a better chance of passing.
I agree that this “debate” was a total sham. As an earlier poster said, to have Matthews in charge of this is like having O’Reilly in charge of Fox debates....something not even thought of, yet the Breck girl and others won’t go on Fox because of supposed bias. The Republicans should be pointing out the difference....that they are not afraid to handle tough questions unlike the Dems who won’t appear on the highest rated cable news channel....they are pathetic...and they want to lead our country?
