I thought it was funny (sad) in the last general conference when the Prophet Gordon B. Hinkley stated that his wife was his most prized possession.
LDS people may not even recognize how ludicrous and offensive statements like this are to the rest of Christianity.
Perhaps if there is enough political fallout over sexual discrimination in the LDS Church, there will be....voila.....a NEW REVELATION! Only if things get very, very uncomfortable for the Church however. How can you keep women in line if they think they can actually give healing blessings to their own children?
But I’ve already been accused of being a despised “feminist” which is hilarious considering I am married for 24 years to a very traditional Hispanic gentleman. We firmly hold to our traditional rolls in our household....(just in case one of you wants to impugn me by suggesting I am a “man hater.)
That is his eternal companion.

If you were neutural it would be a different situtation but it is obvious that is not the case and this constance harping and lashing out will only weaken the link more and also the fact that you broke the eternity vow which I bet he is not even aware that you two are no longer seal.

My dear husband is my most prized possession and friend, and I heard the prophet speak so in others setting how dear his wife is to him it is you who seems to look for opening to nitpick.
If he makes it that long in 3 yrs he will be a 100 yrs old.
That rings a bell. Haven't I read somewhere that in the early church women did give healing blessings? What else do you recall that women were allowed at one time? I know the Relief Society was recently put under the authority of men after years of the women running it, right?
Let’s look at what he actually said shall we. I actually found it a beautiful and love filled statement. His advice to the women in the last sentence is even better, considering all us wayward men!:
"May there be peace and harmony in your homes. Husbands, love and treasure your wives. They are your most precious possessions. Wives, encourage and pray for your husbands. They need all the help they can get. Parents, treat your children with great kindness. They are the coming generation who will bring honor to your name."
