MILWAUKEE -- A former alderman and controversial radio talk show host said he's happy the mother of his radio rival is dead.
Michael McGee Sr. made the comments during his radio show on WNOV-AM Thursday morning. Charlie Sykes is a radio talk show host on WTMJ-AM. Sykes' mother, Katherine B. Sykes, died in a house fire Tuesday. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner said Thursday that Sykes died of smoke inhalation.
McGee's words quickly spread on the Internet as bloggers picked up the story. At least one radio host talked about it on his show Thursday afternoon.
McGee and Sykes have been publically battling for years, but even in the world of talk radio, some are saying the comments made are extreme.
"Mother Sykes, she dead. To me it's the vengeance of God. I ain't got no tears. Matter of fact a woman that would have a fool like that deserve whatever is coming her. She raised a sure enough idiot," McGee said on his radio show. "My instincts say Charlie Sykes killed his momma, cuz she live out in this big palace in Mequon all isolated. He got tired of waiting for her money."
McGee's comments came about 15 minutes into his show. He went on for about five minutes and then moved on to a different topic, but later in the show a caller asked about it.
"Mike McGee Senior," the caller began, "You really don't mean that, about your enemies families members being dead -- killed."
"Man, you don't think I mean that, man, you out of your mind," McGee replied.
WISN 12 News tried to contact McGee, management from WNOV-AM, and Charlie Sykes' radio station, WTMJ-AM, for comment, but no one returned the station's calls or messages.
An employee at WNOV-AM said they've received a lot of phone calls about McGee's comments and that most listeners are not happy about what was said.
McGee was previously suspended by WNOV-AM in 2004 after using an expletive on the air.

Did anybody else notice there is not one word about WHAT KIND OF RADIO McGee was working .. only that it’s “talk radio” - the implication being that it’s RIGHT WING TALK RADIO.
I love it that it’s not right wing - it’s just more of the left’s true feelings about other people.
WTMJ-TV is reporting tonight that Michael Mcgee Sr. will NOT be on the air tomorrow....this is UNCONFIRMED.

Not any fellas with the name of McGee - he says that and much more on a daily basis and is never called on it. Sonny-boy Michael McGee Jackson Jr. is no better.
On the other hand, Mark Belling, another local conservative host (of Rush Limbaugh substitute fame) once used a term referring to "dampness just above the posterior" and was nearly run out of town. He was off the air for about 2 weeks and there was intense pressure by the perpetually offended crowd to get him fired.
Yes he does - he's a rare gem. Charlie loves Milwaukee, plain and simple.

Sr. McGee and his son should be listed in the dictionary under “hate speech”. McGee Jr. just survived a recall election with an overwhelming vote of support from constituents. He is a reflection of who he represents.
McGee and his son are untouchable in Milwaukee. That is probably why he is smirking in the photo.
Just the other day one of them said that the people should throw bricks at speeders in their neighborhood. Both have had run ins with the law more than a few times.
They do not even attempt to hide the fact that there is a double standard anymore. It’s humorous to them.
Everytime a conservative apologizes and grovels to the left they empower another one of these human excrements.
Most disgusting to me when I listened to the video was the prayer he inserted into the dialog. He spouts the most hateful unchristian statements and then prays?

Many people don’t realize that McGee -pays- WNOV to put his show on the air.

Charlie is a class act and has been an authoritative author on the plight of the education system. I have an autographed copy of one of his books.
We are very fortunate to have great local talk show hosts like Charlie Sykes and Marl Belling.
McGee is a disaster. He has a tiny audience on a tiny little station.
