I just adopted a darling Jack Russell terrier. Thankfully, I named him Hero (instead of Montrose, where I found/rescued him). BTW, he too IS that plucky. He really needs to stop barking at and challenging dogs three times his size. Yes, I hired a trainer to teach him to temper that behavior just a wee bit. : ) To date, he has been marvelous and so very sweet.

Officials also are investigating reports that the dogs could have been given methamphetamines to make them more aggressive and very unpredictable.

A tox screen would answer that question, and if it comes up positive, the owners of those dogs need to be arrested, or at least fined HEAVILY for allowing them to run free, because they were a danger to society.

My Shih-Tzu is the same way, and BTW I have a Irish Wolfhound living next door to me. My Shih-Tzu makes that dog cower down and bow to her, I am not kidding.
