Diane Feinstein (D-CA) Cardinal Shenanigans
The Hill ^ | 4/30/2007 | David Keene

Posted on 05/02/2007 5:04:23 AM PDT by poncho67

An excerpt:

"In other words, it appears Sen. Feinstein was up to her ears in the same sort of shenanigans that landed California Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R) in the slammer. Indeed, it may be that the primary difference between the two is basically that Cunningham was a minor leaguer and a lot dumber than his state’s senior senator."

At least she eventually realized that she was digging herself into a bottomless pit and resigned her position. She should get credit for that at her sentencing :-)

What sentencing? The only person even writing about it is a guy on a blog——DiFi will never suffer a thing over this.

“In spite of the blatant appearance of corruption, no major publication has picked up on the story, the Senate Ethics Committee has reportedly let her slip by, and she is now chairing the Senate Rules Committee, which puts her in charge of making sure her colleagues act ethically and avoid the sorts of conflicts of interest...”

And the liberal media certainly is not going to make an example of her, as they did Cunningham.

According to the last paragraph, she resigned her position so that she could take over the chairmanship of the committee that investigates Senate ethical violations. Wonder why?

Yup! Right up there with Massachusetts. What would we do without them?

Californians are comfortable with a culture of corruption.....

That is one of the dumbest statements I have ever seen here at FR.

I live in California. SOME Californians are comfortable. I’d love to see DiFi be held accountable but let’s be realistic. She’s a Dem and Dems don’t care about THEIR culture of corruption. Neither does the MSM.

Hit dog hollers. Californians tollerate the Mexican invasion and all the corruption that goes along with it. They tollerate some of the highest taxes and greatest waste of taxpayer money in the nation. They tollerate the Liberal corruption at all levels and Feinstein is just another example. The list goes on and on. I spent a great deal of time working all over the state and seen it over and over. California is a lost cause if there ever was one. Pitty you can't see the forest for the trees.....

Nope. She never will. So long as she tows the party line she and her money are safe.

Tennessee, the state that gave us Al Gore continues to tolerate one of the biggest liars, hypocrites and alarmist BS artists the world has ever known. That state elected this man and launched him on a career of corruption unmatched by almost any other politician. Tennessee, a state that tolerates this corruption. Pity you can't see the forest for the Zinc Mines.

Now that is how you sound, utterly stupid. It is ignorance at it's best to blame an entire state for the corrupt policies of the Democrats.

Gore claims to be a Tennessean, but if you know his history you know he was raised in DC. You might also know that Tennesseans sent Gore home and gave all 11 electoral votes to Bush in 2000. Tennessee is also prosecuting corrupt politicians. Perhaps you've never heard of the Tennessee Waltz sting where convictions continue to mount, including Harold Ford, Jr.'s uncle.

Now that is how you sound, utterly stupid.

And when the name calling starts it is clear evidence the name caller has lost the debate.

It is ignorance at it's best to blame an entire state for the corrupt policies of the Democrats.

Unless the state continues to elect Liberal Democrats in the wake of the Liberal Democrat corruption......

You called names first thermalseeker so by your criteria you lost the argument before it started.

As another californian that lives in a red county I also resent your BS statements. Most of CA is a red area, but the two or three major population centers override us at election times. This doesn't make everyone who lives in CA an dumbass or a liberal. What we do have is a death grip by dems on our state government.

Most of the CA residents here of FR agree with Michael.SF. but we are too polite to call you the stupid, biased asshat you really are. Have a nice day.

“It is ignorance at it’s best to blame an entire state for the corrupt policies of the Democrats.”

No, it isn’t ignorance. The state’s residents continue voting Democrats into office where the Democrats create and benefit from the corrupt policies. Californians who, in their increasing numbers, pull up stakes and get away from what they have created are just like the blue-hairs who vote a town dry, and then move.

From my personal experience around 10% of the votes in a typical California election are either fraudulent or illegal. In my sampling before the 1996 election I found that 50% (!!!!) of the registered voters in one Congressional District DID NOT EXIST. After that election I helped collect over 700 affidavits in the same district from people who voted YET ADMITTED IN WRITING TO NOT BEING CITIZENS. In short, don’t blame everyone in CA. BTW, the non-existent phantom voters have their ballots voted absentee by well-paid, professional fraud perps. Elections often go to the candidate willing to commit the most felonies.

if the original poster had stated "the Democrats of Californians are comfortable with a culture of corruption.....

I would have agreed with him and not replied. But when ignorant people make broad accusations against everyone, that is ignorance and bigotry. For that I am not apologetic and I will call people on it.

Yes, California, Minnesota, Massachusetts and a few other states continuously, much to our dismay, vote in the most liberal of people. But that only points towards the ignorance of a large percentage of the population and not to the entire state, as is tiresomely pointed out.
