Articles like this always bring out the closet leftists who start screaming about discrimination and hate crimes. The fact is that inviting millions of unassimilated foreigners into this country is national suicide.
2) By associating his name with GOP, he has elected Democrats with nearly as much success as Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. He is a plague to anyone who doesn't want to see The Democratic Party in power. Any liberal commentator who wants to brainwash the mass into thinking Conservative = *NAZI!!!!!* immediately drags out PJB as prima face evidence.
3) He has a history of demeaning anyone he doesn't feel is American enough; to be in politics. Re. Senator Phil Gramm who was also married to a Korean.
4) He is a base hypocrite. He bemoans American job loss from the porch of his palatial mansion. He rails against our trade with other nations; while buying his wife a German luxury car. All he needs is the $400.00 haircut to be the Conservative John Edwards on Populist issues.
Putting America before Israel is not hating Jews.
Claiming 850,000 Koreans should never have been allowed to come here because one of them went nuts is disingenuous. It is no more honest than the gun-grabbers who are milking the Va. Tech shootings the same way Buchanan does here.
No flame from me. I read Buchanan's article and I didn't see anything vile about it. The article was about things we are reaping because of our immigration policies (or lack thereof). There was no singling out of any particular ethnic group and the crimes mentioned were committed by aliens from many countries. I can understand that some would think Buchanan used too broad of a brush, but it was clear to me he was talking about aliens who do not, for various reasons, assimilate into our "melting pot" culture. The "politically correct" attitude that we can not even discuss problems brought about because of our immigration policies because that would be "bigoted" is a liberal attitude that has, and will, prevent this Country from rationally dealing with the issues of immigration, both legal and illegal.
You're talking about another time in our history where we allowed to much immigration, too fast, by 3rd world uneducated criminal type aliens. We were smart enough to put a stop to it. Can't say we are that wise now. The point Buchanan was trying to make and missed by most readers and him, is that the USA (USCIS) is not vetting new immigrants. They gave legalization to thousands with no review, they couldn't even find the files. Blanket amnesties, like the one given the Koreans with no vetting gets us undesireables, no matter what country they come from.
The author of this rant is F.O.S.!
by destroying the Reform Party you did not Kerry for 8 years. People forget.
I agree, however, that is not what Buchanan does. I used to think he was just “putting America first” but the more I’ve read and listened to him over the years...well, I don’t think that’s it. There is something very disturbing lurking in the soul of Buchanan.
Ross Perot handled that job himself. Buchanan’s LBO of The Reform Party was a sure sign that it already had no future. Besides, if The Rp were still vital, we’d still be getting Gored, so let’s not get Kerried away.
Now come on, Pat lost a beloved family member in a Concentration Camp. He fell out of the guard tower.
LOL.
I'm not questioning whether or not this is true, but from a logical standpoint, it would appear that everyone is the hardest working most patriotic citizens. I mean, what group is not the hardest working, most patriotic citizens? From a simple factual standpoint, it can't be the case that more than 50% of the citizens are the hardest working, and most patriotic. Which are they?
I can’t imagine how anyone can make Cho a referendum on Koreans.
Buchanan seemed to try.
Yes, Pat is trying. ;)
