I think Al Qaeda started killing some of the tribal leaders, probably in order to intimidate them.
Looks like it was a bad move.
I heard but can’t recall which “expert” said it, but that in Ramadi attacks formerly averaged 80 either per day or per week, and that now that EIGHTY has shrunk down to TWO.
