Yes I agree read. One more thing talk to your child like you are talking to an adult. No baby language or any of that goo goo ga ga. Tell him everything and anything even though he does not understand he will suck it up. And love him to death!

I talked to my kids that way, as if they were adults, and I started when they were newborns. And I talked to them ALL the time. And sang to them, patriotic songs and my favorite songs from church, and Jesus Loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so, and nursery rhymes. When my daughter was in 4th grade or so, she came home and said she was the only student who could sing the National Anthem by heart. That came from hearing me sing it regularly.

And yes, LOVE them. Remember all the times you were a kid when someone did not love you and how that felt, and then LOVE your child to the max !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
