Poor GEN Petraeus must win the war in Iraq and in the US. There was a time when US Generals fought foes they faced, not those behind them.

General Patton had a lot of enemies in Congress and in the Press. Drew Pearson was a real SOB and did everything he could to hurt Gen. Patton after the war was over. Commies then as now.
