If the military had turned a hero into a goat-you could understand a parent’s outrage. And why tie Abu Ghraib to their son’s memory ?

Why are his parents so adverse to the truth? They need the world to believe he is a hero, when the facts don’t fit the picture? Why do they care what the world thinks of Tilman?

People die every day, most of them leading normal lives and just by dying they aren’t elevated to story-book status. Death happens.

There are heros in life, and there are victims. Pat Tilman was a victim of an ACCIDENT. That doesn’t make him less of a soldier or a human being.
