I’m all for fighting it out in the primaries, but then I always support the Republican nominee, whoever it is, and I always vote.
Third party, Write-in, Stay home and Leave blank are the spoil sports who take the ball and go home.
The Third Party Perot vote gave the Presidency to Clinton in 1992, but I’m sure all those who voted for Perot were proud of themselves — they were able to get rid of GHW Bush.

Ridding the White House of GHW was a worthy cause. In the case of both parties running a liberal candidate, conservative voters should support the conservative candidate even if they have to write one in.
I love it. The Rudy boosters and the GOP leadership are being told loud and clear that their guy would split the GOP. It's not like conservatives are demanding someone hard right - support on FR for GOP centrist Fred Thompson is overwhleming.
But if the Rudy boosters insist on pushing their liberal for the nomination and he somehow wins, THEY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE for the party split that will ensue. Reagan showed the GOP how to win. The Rudy camp, in their hubris, thinks they can disregard that lesson.
