I keep thinking of that line from the movie “Back to Future”, where Doc speculates “in the future, only actors become president” because of TV, or something to that effect.
It was meant to be a joke about Reagan.
Doc said, “No wonder your president has to be an actor, he has to look good on television.” This was when Marty showed him the JVC video camera, which Doc called a “portable television studio.”
This makes sense, since this was the fifties, during the Eisenhower era. JFK didn’t come along until 1960.
