I'd have to say that was a combination of things. And I think most of them still hold the same values as when they were doing so much for the GOP. That's the problem. They were more concerned with the GOP than with conservative values. Those used to go hand in hand, but have recently split. Some stuck with conservatism, and some stuck with their vision for the GOP. A lot of conservatives are happy to see them go, because they used their time here to beat up on conservatives.
I'm really beginning to wonder just how much of the conservative movement many of them embraced. The last seven years have been a constant battle to keep them from dragging FR too far leftwards.
