Well Mom, I certainly can't (and would never) pretend to speak for JimRob, but if you look at Scripture, even Jesus cursed the fig tree for not bearing fruit.

This is not zotting trolls—this is hanging traitors and deporting undesirables. I detest unnecessary vulgarity, but there are times when it just doen’t matter.

Even my dear sainted mother, God rest her soul, was known to utter a salty word (discreetly under her breath and through gritted teeth of course) when the occasion called for such. But she would always send us to the peach tree out back to select a suitable switch if she caught any of us repeating such language.

In fairness to Jim, and at the risk of vanity, I think I have used the term assclown here to describe liberals over the last year. He probably heard it from me. Jim is above that, but I'm not. I will take full responsibility MomMD. Sorry.

I apologize if you are offended. In the meantime, if you are a real MD ma'am...Doc I have this pain in my right ulnar nerve...we were practicing a move in my Tae Kwon Do school and I think I hit my arm on the mat really hard. Should I be worried or will it go away?

I’m a newbie. It’s Jim’s site. I won’t dictate to anybody what they CAN say.

But, respectfully, I will add my name to yours in asking Jim politely, if he could consider a different use of language.

I’d also like it if, now that we’ve got this out of our system, some level of discipline could be re-instated for “friends of the forum” to not launch personal attacks on every person they disagree with.

I feel it detracts from the conversation. I’ve always bragged that conservatives could be distinguished from democrats by our considered language and discussion of policy over personal attacks, and I think that is true and should remain our greatest weapon.

Having thus said, I’m going to bed, and may not be back here tomorrow. I need a break and the constant barrage of insults is weighing me down.

Thanks to all. And Jim, I was serious, you should consider locking the thread for a few hours if you want to get some sleep. We could all live without if for the evening.

I would normally agree with you, but this Sam Hill jerk most certainly warranted an exception to that. Good riddance!
