Fred Thompson can beat her. People just can’t help liking Fred, even when they disagree with him. His producer Dick(?)Wolf wants him to run, and he voted for Clinton.
But he also has backbone. He was the one holdout on several 99-1 Senate votes dealing with federalism. If you haven’t read
anything on him, I urge you to find a Fred thread and search for a “jellybean” Fred Bing list. Her pings have a link to a great database.
I am firmly convinced he will be running. There is no other explanation for why he is blogging explanations for some of the votes and opinions on which conservatives might question him.

That reminds me of a classic line from the 80’s film “Back to the Future”. Marty goes back in time and they ask him “So who is President in the future?” He answers “Ronald Reagan”. Response: “The Actor!!!!....”...I forget the rest of the response, but it was something to do with who was VP.
