2) for the "ultras," who will "never compromise . . ." blah, blah, Rudy would pick up a large number of the so-called independents and Reagan Democrats who do NOT like our social positions, but do not trust the Dems on the WoT.
I say again, he's not my first choice, but just as it is wrong to portray him as a conservative, it's also wrong to underestimate his abilities as a candidate.
You CANNOT be honestly pro-life and support Rudy. If you are doing that, then you have compromised your pro-life position, and said the unborn and the vunerable don’t really count as much as fear.
You may still consider yourself pro-life, but you have made a deal with the dark.
I really think some people misclassified the Reagan Dem’s and Ind’s that often vote Republican.
The Lion’s share of that group only reject the Dem candidates on the issues of Guns and Abortion. That is common knowledge in political circles that even the Dem strategists will admit.
Rudy will get damn few of those voters because he sides with the Rats on those issues.
Rudy isn’t going to pull many Libertarian votes being an authoritarian and a gun grabber.
That leaves the WOT which any of the top Republicans will be equal or better on.
Doesn’t sound like a winning plan to me.
This is the PRIMARY, we get to vote for who represents our views the best....when the general election starts it will be the same....BUT until THEN I am voting for a true conservative and nothing else. A bona-fide pro-life, pro-gun, pro-LEGAL immmigration, pro-border control, pro-military, pro US kinda guy. I would also like a fiscal conservative, but perhaps that is asking too much?
