the WoT, which I think is and should remain our national priority for the forseeable future

I gave Bush that pass in 2004, and he slapped me in the face with it.

Don't misunderstand, I remain a supporter of the President and am proud of the two votes I cast for him. But he squandered my first vote and only got my second vote because of the WOT trump card.

He gave me good judges, like he promised, but he also gave me Campaign Finance (should have vetoed it); No Child Left Behind; Prescription Drug Care; Marines in Prison and al Sadr ruling the roost; etc. etc. etc.

For me, no candidate after Bush gets a pass on everything else because of the WOT.

Tancredo; Hunter; Huckabee ... any number of the candidates or possible candidates can fight the WOT. Giuliani certainly doesn't have a lock on that issue.

I voted for him twice as well. The first time out of conviction, the second time out of lack of a better candidate. He and his boys screwed up the Iraq situation pretty bad, and by their actions they threw away the Republican majority in Congress.

Yeah, but then we hit the electability issue. I don't see any of those guys beating Clinton or Obama or even Edwards in a year when any Republican candidate is going to be fighting an uphill battle.
