You mean like the "civil" discourse on this thread? If the name-calling, personal attack posts on this thread (from all sides) constitute "civil" discourse, I'd hate to see discourse that isn't civil.

Really? I don't remember reading any thread where the phrases like "Bring it on you stupid b*@3h" were tolerated. I don't remember any thread where other FReepers were actively cheering for dozens long-time FReepers to get banned. I don't remember any other thread that has descended into nothing but a series of needless personal attacks in an attempt to bait those FReepers others don't agree with into getting banned or suspended.

As others have said, some of the responses to this thread have been an absolute disgrace.
