Jim:

I’m live in NYC so I’ve had Rudy as my leader. It takes leadership to move NYC from crime-ridden to tourist-ridden. It take leadership to move one of the most liberal cities from perpetual welfare dependency towards self-sustainability. It takes leadership during times of the extreme pain and fear to move a country confidently forward.

You may not like Rudy’s positions on guns, abortion, blah blah blah, but these social issues will be debated Ad nauseam for the rest of our lives … and here’s a news flash for you: in 2016 you’ll still have your gun and Mary Jane will still be able to get an abortion. Sorry to be a spoiler, but it is the cold hard truth.

This country needs a leader to focus on what matters – our security, pride, and prosperity. Rudy’s got my vote.

Roe v wade isn’t a social issue. It’s a constitutional one. So is the 2nd amendment.

“here’s a news flash for you: in 2016 you’ll still have your gun “

Not if there’s a democrat congress and rudy is president. Then it’s time to turn them in.

“Mary Jane will still be able to get an abortion.”

Yes, if rudy is president, nothing will change. That’s the issue. We want judges that will say that roe v wade was bad law and abortion goes back to the states like it was before, and in that case many will chose to limit the practice.

“This country needs a leader to focus on what matters – our security, pride, and prosperity.”

Security? Not for our border against illegals. Security at home? Hard to do when schumer and rudy join up and take them away. Pride? In what exactly, that we have a liberal republican in office?

As far as prosperity, along with it will come more big spending, as rudy has shown he will do when he has the money.

Oh, yeah. I forgot. We’ve been commanded by He on High Horse to “get ye beyond abortion!”

Ho hum.

Queers fornicating, unborn babies being murdered and all you think about is yourself. Your a weak, weak person.

Liberty is a word which, according as it is used, comprehends the most good and the most evil of any in the world. Justly understood it is sacred next to those which we appropriate in divine adoration; but in the mouths of some it means anything, which enervate a necessary government; excite a jealousy of the rulers who are our own choice, and keep society in confusion for want of a power sufficiently concentered to promote good.
Oliver Ellsworth, The Landholder, No. III, November 19, 1787

It is necessary for every American, with becoming energy to endeavor to stop the dissemination of principles evidently destructive of the cause for which they have bled. It must be the combined virtue of the rulers and of the people to do this, and to rescue and save their civil and religious rights from the outstretched arm of tyranny, which may appear under any mode or form of government.
Mercy Warren, History of the Rise, Progress, and Termination of the American Revolution, 1805

I am born and raised in NYC and I lived in NYC through both of Rudy’s terms. I voted for him 3 times for mayor. He also almost had me sold on the same kind of tripe you just regurgitated here tonight.

Let’s just throw out Rudy’s liberalness for a second.

But look back, if you really were in NYC during his tenure as mayor. Remember the power grabs. Remember trying to take people’s cars for traffic infractions. Remember the way he ran roughshod over EVERYONE, not Democrats only, but ANYONE to do what he wanted. Will he fight Dems? You betcha, but he’ll be fighting all of us as well, because it’s all about him. If Rudy were elected as leader of the free world, he would be everything that the left fantasizes that Bush is times 100.

Add that to the fact that he’s nationally a clueless politican, as evidenced by his recent abortion remarks that not only brought up that particular topic, but in a single paragraph made everyone think ‘Well, if that’s a constitutional right that’s not in the constitution, how come he doesn’t believe in what the constitution says about my right to bear arms????’.

Add those and you have a guy who WILL lose via a 3rd party challenge, and you are supporting a sure loser. Heck, I don’t even know if it’ll take a 3rd party by the time it’s over.

But the point is moot, because Thompson makes Rudy look like a child running for class president.
