I couldn’t care less about whether people are gay or straight. In fact I count gay people among my friends. I’m more concerned about my 2nd Amendment rights, abortion, fiscal responsibility and the WOT. And I’m not sold on Rudy being the best guy for any of the four.

A conservative is more than just the WOT and if you were one, you would know that.
You stated “I don’t give a damn about abortion” which makes it tough to see you as anything other than a ‘one issue voter’ and not a conservative.
Sorry you can’t see that now. But maybe one day, when you wonder, if Rudy gets in office, any other ‘liberal’, ‘what happened to our freedoms’ you may change your mind.
But I assure you, there are plenty of Conservatives that will fight to make sure that doesn’t happen. But if, for some reason we may fail, then you’ll have a lot to ‘reflect on’ in your later years.

To prove it -an answer to one simple question -- WHAT one and only thing objectively defines/differentiates a "gay" person from a "non-gay" person... The sexual activity that either may choose to engage in...
Knowing the answer to the question THEN ask yourself if any rights or priveleges should be merited from society because someone chooses to engage in an unhealthy and intrinsically disordered sexual activity that has no possibility of benefiting society (e.g. creating children)...

You are wrong. I’m not saying that I go out of my way, but I don’t even think about it unless they flaunt it in my face. Public displays of affection are off limits for homosexuals as much as heterosexuals. It doesn’t go well in public. Trying to teach kids that it is “normal” and even encouraging kids to experiment is WRONG, and totally out of bounds.
I don’t care what people do behind their own doors, I just don’t want it described to 5 year olds as normal.

Until this thread, posters like you baffled me, I didn’t understand why so many of you were perpetually angry, and why you would make so many fundamental challenges that I didn’t think needed to be asked and responded to so frequently, on a forum where we all are already conservatives.
I would look to see if you were new, but instead many of you had been around a long time.
Now I find out that people like you aren’t so conservative, so naturally you were often in a fighting, argumentative mood while being on the forum. I knew the name Jim Robinson, and I knew he owned the forum, but I really didn’t know anything about him. Because of this thread I think I understand FR for the first time, and as a social conservative I’m glad to know that it is at the heart of the purpose of FR.
Now I see that a lot of the people that seemed so disruptive, hostile and time wasting were not really the core of this forum after all, judging by all of the banned accounts of the last couple of days.

I wouldn't presume to speak for every member of this forum, but I don't think I've ever met a gay person I didn't get along with.
I pretty much understand that every human is a sinner deserving of hell, and I think homosexual acts are a sin, as is extramarital sex, and a myriad of other things that humans love to do.
But I try not to hate anybody, even those who have actually committed crimes and injured or killed my fellow human beings. Hate is bad, and I refuse to let any other human govern MY emotions to do evil.
Of course, being human I do fail at that from time to time. But it's my outlook on life. Don't sweat what others say about you, don't let other's opinions govern your own.
I long ago learned that other's opinions of me are based on incomplete knowledge.
I’m also for gay rights. I believe a person who is gay has the same rights as any other human being. They have the right to life, the right not to be aborted, the right to succeed or fail on their own.
They have the right to police protection, to own property, to own a gun, to free speech.
Rights are endowed by our creator, and belong to each person, regardless of their nature.
Can a gay person marry? Absolutely. Governor Greevey, a gay man, was married for quite some time. Can they have children? Sure, Greevey had a child. Can they have sex with whoever they want? Sure, Greevey had sex with his aide.
I’m straight. Can I marry a man? No. Against the law. A Gay man has the same rights as I do, he can’t marry a man, I can’t marry a man.

You are wrong. I’m sure just about everyone knows a gay person/relative they like just fine. There is a vast difference between being gay and promoting the gay agenda.
That gay agenda is being promoted by liberal “gay rights” groups. It includes gay sex education & normalization for schoolkids, gay “marraige”, special protection against workplace discrimination so it would be as hard to fire a gay person as it is currently to fire a lazy minority, partner benefits costing taxpayers millions, “hate crimes” legislation. Just look at Canada for an example. Preachers are getting hauled in for calling homosexuality wron and sinful.
