For easier birds, you could put up a regular tube feeder and use the black oil sunflower seeds. We have gold finches by the dozen, not to mention many other varieties. They love the stuff. So do squirrels, but some peanuts tossed around usually takes care of the raiding problem. So would a shotgun.

LOL! Yes it would. Thanks for that tip. I plan to get back into that stuff as soon as I finish school. I would love to have other birds besides the hummingbirds. However, I do love the hummingbirds.

I had a bag of mixed seeds that my son bought instead of black sunflower seeds. I used them once because didn't want to waste them. The birds just didn't seem interested. I went back to black sunflower seeds and I have so many beautiful little birds.

Course, they love my pond and waterfall the best.
