Actually, there is choice. Silence is the cowardly choice.
The silence of the sheepdog leads to the silence of the lambs, for example, and the wolves have veal for dinner.
The silence of moral adults means that ruthless plunderers will make merchandise of infant mayhem by pandering to irresponsible self-gratification.
