“Looks like Ronnie is walking way to fast. Uniform doesn’t seem right. Shadows look weird. Whatever is in his right seems superimposed.”

It looks OK to me, but I don’t have an eye for photos, it looks to me like he is taking a short, vigorous actor’s step as is the woman. His gig line is straight, the crossed rifles may mean this is a movie scene. The shadows and background seem OK to me.

I hope we get some expert commentary on it.

Re: Picture of Ronald Reagan [post #12,456]

For what it’s worth, I believe that the picture appears to be in two sections because that is exactly what happened - I can’t be sure of what publication it might have appeared in, but if it were a picture which was split between two pages, the difference in vertical shading would roughly correspond to where the center of the magazine (presuming it was a magazine photo) would be. The difference between the two sides of the picture could be caused by either the original publication not matching each side perfectly, or it could be caused by fading over the years if the photo was scanned from a copy of the original publication.

The shadows look ok to me, and the sunlight appears to be coming from Ron’s right (how appropriate! ;). The grassy areas on either side of the sidewalk mostly match each other.

Now I can’t say for sure who that lady (and the little girl) is, if it isn’t Jane Wyman and Maureen Reagan, the only other possibility would be that this photo is a still PR shot for one of Reagan’s earlier movies.

Just my .02 cents.
