They were almost without exception, to me...very nice, pragmatic Freepers.

When "pragmatism" means supporting a pro-abortion, pro-illegal immigration, pro-radical gay agenda, pro-gun control, pro-infanticide, anti-religious, anti-conservative, draft-dodging serial adulterer liberal. Then maybe that brand of "pragmatism" isn't a bad thing.

Some very nasty things have been said here in this thread, against Jim Robinson, against Free Republic, and against conservative mostly by people who had prior membership on that site. Come on, you're telling me that you don't detect a pattern here?

I am all for a Thompson/Hunter ticket. Remember people, we need to look beyond the next 1 or 2 elections. We need to have a conservative in the White House for the next 16 years to undo all the damage done by the libs. We also need to get these rePUBICans out of office as well. Politics is one thing...compromise on fundamental principle is an entirely different matter. God grant us all as citizens the wisdom to recognize that the two can never be mixed...we dare not mix them irrespective of whatever logic others use to convince us otherwise.
