You are wrong. I’m sure just about everyone knows a gay person/relative they like just fine. There is a vast difference between being gay and promoting the gay agenda.

That gay agenda is being promoted by liberal “gay rights” groups. It includes gay sex education & normalization for schoolkids, gay “marraige”, special protection against workplace discrimination so it would be as hard to fire a gay person as it is currently to fire a lazy minority, partner benefits costing taxpayers millions, “hate crimes” legislation. Just look at Canada for an example. Preachers are getting hauled in for calling homosexuality wron and sinful.

zero is a number, but not a freeper anymore. But still, I wanted to respond to a point raised:

Yeah, but then we hit the electability issue. I don't see any of those guys beating Clinton or Obama or even Edwards in a year when any Republican candidate is going to be fighting an uphill battle.

When I argue with rudy supporters, they may start with "He's strong on the War on Terror", or "He's strong on National Security", or "He's hated by liberals". (not that they give evidence for the first two). But when you ask them for evidence of the first two, and mention that virtually all of our candidates are fine on those issues, it always come down with them to "electability".

I've called this defeatism. They believe that conservatism is dead, and that the best we can hope for is to appeal to liberals and independents who are, mostly blindly, walking our country off a cliff.

Rudy supporters believe that no good conservative could possibly turn these people around, and having an "R" in the white house is so important that they are willing to march over the cliff with these people by electing a leader heading in that direction.

Another zot. Bullseye. Jim’s going Rino hunting.

I wonder if Jim had been drinking before that shot? :-)

The ultimate determinant in the struggle now going on for the world will not be bombs and rockets but a test of wills and ideas - a trial of spiritual resolve: the values we hold, the beliefs we cherish and the ideals to which we are dedicated.

Ronald Reagan

And that counts at home, too.

"Disgusting" seems to be your word du jour

I would note that she did not call you disgusting, she said your action "disgusted" her. I hope that was a purposeful distinction, because it shows who one can react harshly to the actions of others without getting personal.

The banned poster repeatedly accused Cheney of being drunk when he shot the lawyer, when evidence shows he was not, and even after he was questioned about his comment, giving him a chance to say it was just his opinion or that he was speaking in hyperbole.

Jim has made it clear that, while he will NOT ban people for who they support (Hildy's still here, along with dozens of other rudy supporters who haven't opused out), he will no longer tolerate lies told about good conservatives on this site by people trying to promote the most liberal republican candidate.

And you never did answer my question - who are you supporting?

I can answer that for her in the context of her post: She is supporting a great conservative and a man who has devoted his life to what is good for this country and for conservative principles, Vice President Dick Cheney.

Do you support lying about Dick Cheney in order to defend the acts of a candidate?

Boy that Gipper was sure smart. He said it then, it is still true, and is being ignored by too many.

Our job is to get the message out.

If we, just everyday folks who care, don’t want to bother with getting the message out, who will?

I don’t know if it was a result of this thread, but zarf was recently banned.

He will not be missed. It seems like JimRob's not just going for the Rudybots. Zarf and Central Scrutinizer were anti-christian bigots. On a board where atheists and agnostics who are civil and friendly are well-represented, we didn't need that kind of crap.

No I'm not. You're just misinterpeting what I said.

Deliberately, I'm sure.

Though I don’t buy your answer (everything Dem will fall into line behind Hillary if she wins the nomination, it’s their way) I’d like to note that you’re the first Rudy supporter who has given me a reasonable answer to that question. And it’s a good one.

Exactly right. And let's not forget the even filthier subculture of 'bug chasing' (HIV-infected homosexuals who seek out, or are sought by, non-HIV-infected homosexuals), which poses an even greater risk to society at large:

The above story from Australia will put a chill in you.

I woke up this morning to see that you had posted to me and I just couldn't WAIT to see what pearls of wisdom you were going to share with me.

I wasn't disappointed.

(All HEAVY sarcasm for anyone who actually takes this pre-adolescent Reagan posseur seriously).

You are right. The problem is that we sit back and take what is happening instead of fighting against what is happening. It is troublesome.

This one statment made by Reagan, is the key to fighting the jihadis.

Rudy isn't the man to do this job and most of us know it.

Note that not all of them are rudy supporters, and I didn’t keep track either of that or of why they were banned (in some cases it was obvious, they asked to be banned or called JR names or attacked Ronald Reagan or used profanity). I don’t know exactly why people are banned, and when I speculated before it got me into an argument that was unproductive.

If you see any others, send me freepmail, I’m still updating the list nightly, although I hope there is no need to update it for very much longer. I’ve already got two names for tonight:

proust1 - banned after saying a disabled child who lived to age 21 should have been killed at birth.

zeroisanumber - banned after claiming that Dick Cheney was drunk when he shot the lawyer.

As an aside, if I were choosing a name that was “thought-provoking”, rather than “zero is a number”, I’d probably chose “blackisnotacolor”

“No I’m not. You’re just misinterpeting what I said.”

That would be very difficult to do since I pasted your comments on the post. You’ve made your choice to obfuscate and manipulate so now I no your intentions. If your plan is to subtlely attack those on this board whatever your motivations, since you are not a Giuliani supporter, you will be responded to. But your false martyrdom tactics were obviously a ruse.

Yeah, but it must be fun for some around here.

Like I said................mob mentality.

And quite possibly the beginning of the demise of a once great political forum where thoughtful posts were respected, and civil discussion possible.

Many people are mourning its passing into oblivion. GOOD people.

FR has meant a lot to thousands of GOOD conservative people. It would be a shame if the mob drives them/us all away.
