And the whole concept of a fundraising thread combined with a celebration of the departure of people we have known for up to a decade is a little unsettling to me. I think this is a first for FR.It's the first time I've seen a lot of things here.
The first time I've seen such disrespect from a Freeper directed at JimRob.
The first time I've seen someone offer JimRob money if he would ban someone else.
The first time that someone as liberal as Rudy has been supported on this conservative web site.
And I've not seen so many personal attacks (from both sides) being permitted by the Moderators.
Yes, it has been a series of firsts for me.

Absolutely, and I just got a fresh pot of coffee brewed! Celebrating the victory march in the true goal of the thread (as I see it) which is saying NO to Rudy, pushing back with conservative values and never, ever, quitting!

I think the most obnoxious of the Rudy boosters are gone - the folks who weren't just content to push Rudy, but who also sought to attack many conservative values such as pro-life and pro-gun - such as questioning Fred's pro-life bona fides even though they didn't give a fig that Rudy is pro-abort and belittled pro-life values. I agree - the time for banning folks is hopefully past. Although I can think of a couple prominent posters who have laid low the last week, but should they return and resume their ways should be banned as well.
I also agree that Dog Gone is a good poster and should be left out of this.

Is there an entry in the Guiness Book of world records for longest threads? If so what is the screen name of their observer and I hope he is a conservative for goodness sakes!

Wow. This thread just went to 11.
In the “Scarlet Pimpernel” there is a scene of toothless old crones sitting around the guillotine, chatting and knitting, and occasionally cheering as another head drops into the basket with a thud.
I guess I’m not much different. Just can’t stay away from this thread.

I said that last night and then bam here comes a moth into the light...I mean it’s really up to them, not FR in general.
I do agree that the bulk is finished but I think there will be sporadic buzzing into the light. Also, there is no room here for individual exemptions. It’s up to the individual and how far they want to attempt to troll.

Actually, people were making donations. There was no fund raising, per se, going on. Nobody was asking for donations.
It still wasn’t a fund raising thread. The purpose of this thread had nothing to do with fund raising.

Have you all forgotten Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment?
I haven't. Don't tell me I'm not a "real" conservative.
I'm old enough to have voted for Reagan for President twice and I did. Proudly. (And not in the same election, either). Reagan, btw, was the only person I've ever voted for for President. All the other times, I was voting against.
I may have to do that again in the upcoming election.
But I will not break Reagan's 11th commandment.

Enough with the banning already.

The purpose of this thread had nothing to do with fund raising. It turned into one. No point in trying to split hairs. A fair amount of money has been raised to pay the juice bill for the bug zapper.
