No one seems to know for certain, a witness on the scene says the only pieces of the plane remaining would fit in your hand.Having lived there, I know the ground is essentially sandy mud. Any big chunks are buried.

CNN’s website is saying the pilot is alive, but not confirmed,
“I was told [the pilot] was alive, but I can’t confirm that,” a South Carolina state trooper speaking on condition of anonymity told CNN.
I am tired of “sources” and tired of running news without any confirmation.
