Ahhhhh . . . so if the South had WON the war it would have been legal. Got it. Never knew the rule of law was so simple

Natural right of rebellion. Win the war and you can write your own laws. As Lincoln said in the first inaugural, "Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing Government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it." Do you actually think that if the Americans had lost their revolutionary war, they would have legally still gotten all the British possessions? Of course not. Whose law would apply?

That's the catch. If you lose your rebellion, bad things are going to happen.

To: Bubba Ho-Tep; All
well, certainly "BAD things" did happen to ALL Americans, as a result of the union winning the war.

UNfortunately, ONLY the financial/intellectual/social/northeastern "elites" won.

everyone else LOST freedom, as a result of the war. furthermore, a century & a half later, we "regular people" are STILL losing FREEDOM to the "elites" out of the northeast & the LEFT coast.

so don't "blow your horn" bubba, as you are a LOSER, too.

the ONLY good solution is DISOLUTION.

then the hate-FILLED,socialists of the northeast will have their socialist/stalinist NANNY-state = the People's Multicultural Socialist Republik. (just think, bubba, every decision will be made FOR you. it will be "bread & circuses" forever, there. i'm sure you'll be VERY happy, under the boot-heel of your "betters".)

the LEFT coast will become Los Estados Unidos de Azatlan (one wonders who will make the pornographic movies, then??? and where will all "the beautiful people"/lunatics/weirdos, from the "land of fruits & nuts" go??)

AND the southland will be FREE AT LAST. THANK GOD ALMIGHTY. FREE AT LAST!

Can’t argue with that. Nice to know that Lincoln advocated rebellion even as he sought to crush it. Can’t understand why some think he was the greatest. Same mentality that thinks Clinton was good, I guess.
