I'm thinking the massacre would have occurred regardless, but it would have started in the Dean's office where the bad news was delivered.
To throw a mentally unstable person out into the street in any case, the problem simply moves to someplace else, and again the massacre would have occurred.
The answer lies in treatment. It lies in interdicting the problem before it become a societal problem. It cannot be forced treatment unless a crime has been committed, and then it is too late.
We must put mental health ahead of many of the unnecessary and useless political correctness. We need to make it as important as contraception, acne, chest pains and cancer for example. It needs to be on the front societal burner and everyone should be concerned about their own health as well as others.
Today, some poor kid got tossed out of grade school for making a list of people he did not like. What a great help that was...LOL...Show me a kid who does not have issues with other kids. Show me a kid who makes no lists....Show me a kid who automatically knows how to deal with interpersonal relationships.
What happened to that kid was wrong, and a stupid reaction.
It is no wonder that the U.S. is often the laughing stock in other countries. We act like rabble. Knee jerk, hyper emotional rabble.
