It depends which version you're reading.

Have you never heard of/read/seen the book, which was turned into a movie, called "THE HANDMAIDEN'S TALE"? If you have, where do you think the title and a bit of the story came from?

I have not seen the movie. I agree that Hagar was serving in the role as Sarah’s handmaiden. However, she was purchased in Egypt for that purpose.

It is easy to diverge into the story of Hagar and her son, Ishmael. Her story is a far cry from the story of Cho. She prevailed under desperate circumstances. She cried out to God and God brought she and her son relief and great promise for the future. There is a lesson for all of the Chos of the world who find themselves in the desert desperate for water. It says that God will provide if you reach out to him. In a society that insists that the public sector should be a God Free Zone, we fail to give the Chos of the world hope.
