Don’t want to be greedy, but one more would be nice. Stevens has been on the edge of leaving for the past two years now.
Next president WILL appoint a justice. There will probably be a democrat majority in congress. So we need a solid conservative who won’t be inclined to let the democrats pick which “strict constructionist” to appoint.
Rudy has shown that when there are obstacles in place to appointing good conservative justices, he is happy to go along with those obstacles so long as the justice meets his definition of “fair and honest”, which according to Rudy includes finding that Roe is settled law.
Agreed. These 5-4 decisions are too close for comfort.
“Dont want to be greedy, but one more would be nice. Stevens has been on the edge of leaving for the past two years now.”
I agree!! I have heard that Stevens is waiting until a RAT becomes president to retire, to guarantee that a lib/socialist will take his place.
Ginsburg too . . .
She’s on the verge of the big adios.
Perhaps this "loss" will provide the impetus...
We all should be “greedy” because Kennedy is wishy washy and will not vote with conservative SC members often. It will be hard if not impossible to get a real conservative on the SC with Rats in control of the senate.
That would be ideal...but he'll stick it out until after the elections I would bet to see who wins.
Oh, let's be greedy. I'd like two more. A constructionist Supreme Court is our only line of defense when our elected leaders let us down. (And I don't even care about abortion that much. It's the thousand other reasons that I'm more worried about.)
