Thanks God. It’s no longer a sport. It’s ALL ABOUT LIFE. Sigh.

It’s a pretty sad way to justify abortion.

Yep, classic leftist pro-abortion argument, and one Sanger would be proud that is still in use.

Kill the poor, the crippled; the useless.

So *we* don’t have to support them. We shouldn’t be supporting them in the first place. We’ll always have poor. Great incentive to break out of it and make something of yourself.

Oh yes!
Show tunes!
We’ll start with Evita (when we’re in Argentina, natch). Then it’s the phantom when we’re in the Brazilian rainforest.
It’ll be great!
A laugh! A tear! (A mitzvah?)

Thank you. Yours in post #854 was much more eloquent, and sadly true. :*(

There’s not actually a contradiction between supporting abortion rights and appointing strict constructionists. I would prefer someone who’s pro-life but the important thing is court appointees. Of course which party controlled the Senate would play a role probably.

“I know where you stand now, td—I actually want to thank you for admitting that you’re a social liberal. I can get back to my life now.”

Yup...I am a social liberal...I believe in FREEDOM. Abortion should be legal on demand in the first and second trimester, drugs should be legal, prostitution should be legal...and you shouldn’t have to jump through fifty hoops just to be able to own and carry a gun anywhere in the United States, even an Uzi or a Solothurn!

it’s a matter of trust.

I don’t trust someone who cannot seem to find his “position” on abortion.

If he cannot find his position on abortion he is going to be indecisive come judge time.

My gut instinct is he would give us another Breyer.

Some of you must be ticked off that Rudy agrees with this great ruling.....

It's fine with me if he wants to agree with it, but he has a problem. Got to post 87 in this thread and look at the evidence Spiff has collected. Rudy praising this ruling now is as much of a flip-flop as John Kerry's "I voted for it before I voted against it."

Then you haven't been following this thread.

You strain out a gnat and swallow a dumpster full of dead babies. Quit playing these silly Chavez games...babykilling is not conservative, and Hugo pretending to be a Catholic changes nothing about that fact.

This is not inconsistent. It's possible to be opposed to a law without believing it's unconstitutional.

See post 87 for an extensive list of Ruidy's pronouncements about PBA. For him to back this ban is as much a flip-flop as John Kerry's "I voted for the $87 billion before i voted against it."

Send it to the States, and this will also free the national Republican party from the litmus test on this issue, so we can focus on other issues regarding government.

If we were killing 4,000 ten year olds each day, or 4,000 thirty year olds, would you figure it was something for the GOP to just get over?

I am full on 110% pro-life/anti-abortion but all of the god stuff on this thread gives me the major heebie jeebies <>

You must admit, thanks are in order.

Dirtboy, that sentence, at least to me, is not clear. Are you saying that Rudy supported the ban or that he supported Clinton's vetoing the ban?

Giuliani supported the veto. See post 87 in this very thread for a full briefing on Rudy's unswerving support for partial birth abortion. His statement supporting this new ruling is a flip-flop on the order of John Kerry's "I voted for the $87 billion before I voted against it."

Your post is yet another example why rules-based Libertarians can not be entrusted with running government. They have SFB.

SFB?

One has to wonder where these people draw the line? And how can they consider themselves religious?

Remember what Paul said to Timothy, that in the last days people would gather around them teachers who would say whatever their itching ears wanted to hear.

In 2006, our soldiers were stabbed in the back because so-called conservatives did not vote. These selfish pretenders have given us a Lib congress that will stab our troops in the back.

Prove it.

They waste their time bashing a good man like Rudy.

Good men do not revere the "right" to rip a small child's limbs off. Good men do not praise Nazi sympathizers at a dinner celebrating the work of professional babykillers.

If Rudy gets the nod and you stay home, you will guarantee that a hardcore leftist like Hillary will be President.

Yes, only Rudy can win. Sorry, but I still haven't heard a lucid explanation of why running a northeastern liberal against a northeastern liberal is not only a decent strategy, but our only hope.

Bite your tongue. Conservatives don't care about such trivia anymore.

Your legalisms are inaccurate, but even if they weren't, you strain out a gnat and swallow a dumpster full of dead babies.

The 14th Amendment gives Congress all the authority they need to pass this law.
