I’ll give him this - in his rambling note, extra points for the use of the word debauchery. Now there’s a word you don’t see every day.

Between the semi-pornographic writing and the weapons violations, I’d think he was trying to position himself for a run at being the next US Senator from Virginia.

POTD!

Ugh. He was a horrible writer. Then again, I also dislike well-written depressing, dysfunctional tales.

I know this man was terribly disturbed but I still find it hard to believe that the school admitted him as a student. I wonder if there is any chance that this entry was fabricated after the fact, like yesterday evening? Any way to check it out?

I know. The writing is so bad it does set off my hoax detector. But sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

Note his reference to conspiracy theories

Conspiracy theories abound on the FR threads about this guy. So I guess half the folks on FR are missing that thingy. :^0

Good post! I still think the men and women who decided that the mentally deranged should be "free" and consequently closed all of the asylums should be held responsible for the havoc they caused. Tens of thousands of murders would have not occurred, countless relatives and neighbors of people who should be institutionalized would not have had to live with constant fear and anxiety and the number of homeless would be significantly reduced. And that does not even take into consideration the well being of those that need to be in a protected, safe environment.

Thanks for the nice welcome, but I’m an old-timer. Been overseas and had to re-up on FR because I forgot my old password. (Getting older is no fun!)

Good thing Shakespeare didn’t have professors to get “concerned”.

Or the Apostles. As Dennis Miller puts it, the Bible is something of a “gory tome.”

On an unrelated side-note, I have to say I would never have been a victim in this particular incident because throughout college I studiously avoided taking a class before 10 a.m.

If a class occurred before 10 a.m., I simply refused to take it. What would be the point if I was hardly awake?

Does anybody else find it odd that the shooter committed the first murders around 7:15 a.m.? He must have been an early riser.

“Does anybody else find it odd that the shooter committed the first murders around 7:15 a.m.? He must have been an early riser.”

Or - he never went to sleep that night. On another thread somewhere it said the girl he was fixated on had “just been” dropped off at her room by her boyfriend before she was killed. Perhaps the nut/killer had watched her every move since the evening before.

A couple of questions. . .

How did this guy pass the exams needed to be accepted into this university, or for that matter, to have graduated from high school?

Did the school counselors make any inquiries into his relationship with his family and conditions at home. These are not normal “musings” a son would have concerning his parents.

This killer’s writings do not sound like Stephen King or an attempt to write a “triller”. Stephen King has a “moral center” that manages to surface in most of his work or commentaries. Most authors do.

This guy’s writings are horrible windows into a sick mind. To read it makes you ill.
