I think that’s the scary thing. Even when you know there is a crazy guy around, how do you protect yourself?

Maybe there is a system where you can alert the police to someone acting threateningly, and then maybe gun shops can send in who has purchased guns. A computer program could track to tell the police that the threatening person has purchased guns/ammo, and then the police can keep an eye on him.

I’m okay with regular people having guns, but I do think that it needs to be tracked some way. I don’t think illegals and people with criminal records should be able to purchase guns.

No, gun shops already report sales. Laws won’t protect you from a crazy psychopath. I took out a restraining order against the kid who was stalking me and after the police informed him, he came and stood in the street in front of my house and called to me, challenging me to do something about it. So, I once again called the police. We eventually just moved, while he was in jail for being caught in a woman’s bedroom one night. But he found us again. The best defence for your home is a dog.

But stopping something like happened yesterday is difficult if authorities won’t take the danger signs seriously. Setting a fire in the dorm should have been enough to send the kid to jail. Professionals should be able to spot these people right away. My husband warned us that there was something off about the kid who stalked us, the first day he saw him. He used to teach special ed and then he was a staffing manager for a large company for years, where he had to be able to make judgement calls about people all the time.
