I don’t think any of know the precise sequence, but from what I saw, the entry was made by uniformed officers prior to any formal SWAT deployment, so I doubt there was either a sniper involved or a shootout. My guess would be the shooter heard the cavalry coming up the stairs and possibly was low on ammo, and decided to end it before they grabbed him.
I didn’t mean to indicate they found him first. They found him among the victims shortly after they made entry. The point I was making is that he didn’t “run around loose for 8 hours” as some have claimed.
The loud sound was the doors being blown open by the cops, because Cho had chained htem closed. Cho's shooting ended on, or about that time. No shots were fired by any police.
