Dear betsyross1776,
“This was not a community this was a college.”
Actually, it’s a university comprising:
- 2600 acres (about 4 sq miles)
- 26,000 students
It’s a university, but it’s also a small city.

If we cannot lock down 4 sq miles what would we do if someone had a nuclear suitcase bomb and we needed a lock down of a bigger area? Due to the fact things do happen like this and this could save lives, if we do not know how to do this ?We should darn well learn. We better learn from our mistakes here or we are doomed to repeat them. May God say I am wrong. But we must learn( if we do not know how to do this ) to prevent worse then maybe this happening. This is terrible , 33 people are dead.We have to learn if it is to hire more security, buy cameras, or teach our kids what to look for we have to learn. Too many people are in morning today. Too many good people died yesterday. it is our duty to see to it their memory is not on the history channel, but this is prevented in some way from this terrible time.
