Not the case at all.Most major Universities have sworn well trained officers.The university of Georgia has had a professional force for 40 years.

The university of Georgia has had a professional force for 40 years.

Emory police are DeKalb County cops -- Georgia State and Georgia Tech campus officers are city of Atlanta. At least in Emory's case, most of the cops are are veteran officers, because the campus gig pays more money for easier work and less danger -- it's almost a form of semi-retrement. I assure you, they're not a joke.

I've heard a lot of people of the opinion that campus police are one notch up from mall security, but that hasn't been the case at any campus I've been to.
